Kurukshetra
from the age of ancient ages has
been a source of spiritualism
and Indian culture. This city
has been the centre of Vedic

Kurukshetra is also called the

was here that Lord Krishna gave
the lesson of Bhagwat Geeta to
Arjun and explained to him the
importance of Karma and Yog as
an art of living.
The greatest epic battle
Mahabharata was fought on the
land of Kurukshetra. The holy
scriptures like Bhagwat Geeta,
Mahabharata which are considered

Religious work

Celebrating Geet Jayanti as
national festival
Kurukshetra and Geeta sound
synonymous with each other.
Kurukshetra is as inseparable
from Bhagwat Geeta as Bhagwat
Geeta is from Kurukshetra. When
you remember one you remember
the other, both are reverential.
Kurukshetra is the land of
Brahma. It is believed that the
Universe was created in
Kurukshetra. Many sages have
performed Yagya and penance on
the banks of Saraswati river.
Vedas were born here. Through
Arjuna the world was enlightened
about the Philosophy Bhagwat
Geeta. During the solar eclipse
the water of Kurukshetra rivers
becomes nectar. For these
reasons the land of Kurukshetra
is the land of divinity. The
very thought of a visit to
Kurukshetra cleans the person of
all his sins. The sacred air
that blows in this land can
purify a person simply by
touching him. (quote Sanskrit
shalok here). The donation
offered here brings thirteen
times more returns for the
giver.
The preachings of Bhagwat Geeta
is said to be the voice of God.
Every word of this holy book is
like salvation of soul. It is
the synopsis of Upanishads Geeta
is the holy trinity of
knowledge, renunciation and
devotion. It preaches about the
immortality of soul, mortality
of body and selfless service.
Bhagwat Geeta teaches a man the
art of living and attaining
salivation after death. It is
the philosophy of deep
meditation and contemplation. No
scripture in the world can
compare with Bhagwat Geeta. It
is indisputably supreme, brings
welfare and inspires pure
thoughts. Bhagwat Geeta is the
pride of India and its identity.
For spreading the philosophy of
Bhagwat Geeta in the Hindu month
of Magh Geeta Jayanti is
celebrated. It goes to the
credit of Shri Devendra Swarup
Brahmchari Ji that he persuaded
the then Governor of Haryana
Shri Dhanik Lal Mandal to
declare Geeta Jayanti as a state
festival. Today Geeta Jayanti is
celebrated in Haryana as a
Kurukshetra festival. Many
religious and cultural festivals
are organized to mark this
festival.
Let us make our efforts to make
Geeta Jayanti not only as a
national festival but also a
festival which will transcend
the barriers of the country.
Prospective Plans of Shri Jai
Ram Vidhyapeeth
The executive committee on 29
April 2005 took the following
decision :
 |
Utilization of land
taken from the Panchayat
in Lohar Majra for
setting up college for
women which will offer
degree courses in B.Ed,
M.Ed, NTT, CP.Ed, BP.Ed
etc. In the first phase
first B.Ed college will
be setup. This college
will be called as Jai
Ram Women’s College of
Education, Research and
development. The college
would also encourage
Research in the field of
education.
|
 |
Navrang Rai Lohia, Jai
Ram Girls College will
also have B.Ed college
by upgrading the
existing infrastructure.
|
 |
Establishing medical
college in Kurukshetra.
This has been a
continuous demand for a
medical college in the
city. On the national
highway of
Chandigarh-Dehli there
is no hospital which can
offer multi-specialty
medical aid. Shri Brahm
Swarup Brahmchari Ji has
decided to set up a
medical college in
Khanpur Kolian. It would
be 7 Kms. from
Kurukshetra. All the
necessary documents have
been sent to the
concerned authority. The
estimated cost of
medical college is Rs.
100 crore.
